SUGA International is the Silver Sponsor of the forum, and Dr. Alfred Ng, its Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director was invited to be a member of the technical panel responsible for judging entries.

Held on 19 and 20 July at Hong Kong Cyberport, this year’s “CAFEA Young Talent Smart City Forum” was organized by CAFEA Smart City Limited, a member of the Cyberport Community, and co-organized by the Cyberport Academy. Its purpose was to cultivate interest in technological innovation, scientific research and digital city construction among youth, encourage them to realise their creativity and pool ideas for constructing smart campuses and smart cities, as well as to actively participate in helping development of the GBA and construction of a first-class international livable and efficient smart city cluster in the GBA.

This year, 45 out of more than 350 entries submitted by primary and secondary school pupils from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macau were selected for rating at the forum. The submissions covered a diverse range of topics, from enhancing campus sustainability to developing smart city solutions, clearly showing the innovative thinking and ability of the pupils in tackling complex issues and using new technologies and methods to put their ideas in practice. The winner of the “SUGA Innovation Award” sponsored by SUGA was the outstanding “Smart City: Intelligent Flood Control Suspended Manhole Cover” project of students from the No.3 Senior High School of Shenzhen.
